Black and white portrait of a World War II veteran.

Clifford J. Llewellyn – Aug 11, 1922 – April 26, 2022

Clifford John Llewellyn was born August 11, 1922. He was the oldest of 7 children. His brother, Robert and sister Esther are still living in Minnesota

Cliff is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jane Kreis Llewellyn, his son, Clifford John Llewellyn Jr., parents and other siblings.

Cliff is the father to three children: Clifford Jr, (wife Karen), Judi Peterson (husband Bill), and Jan  (husband Dale); three grandchildren: Christian John Peterson (wife Jodi), Ryan Joseph Peterson (wife Amy), and Kelsey Peterson (Taylor Bristow); and three great grandchildren: Callie Peterson, Samantha Hamann, and Magnolia Peterson.

Clifford was raised on a farm in Minnesota and remained there until he enlisted in the Army Air Corp at age 20.  Clifford was part of the ‘greatest generation’ of World War II veterans. He was a Radio Operator and flew 41 missions in the Pacific Theater.   He was a proud American.

After the war he returned home and then made his way to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He met and soon married his wife, Betty, on September 6, 1947. They were together for 70 years.  They had three children and lived comfortably in Thiensville until they moved to Red Oak, Texas in 2012 to be closer to family.

They were members of Christ the King Lutheran Church and enjoyed fellowship and community with everyone.

Clifford made his final flight on April 26th in the early morning hours.  He was not alone. He was an amazing person who loved to write and share his stories.   We find comfort in the certainty of his reunion with his Savior, family and friends.

Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, May 1st. 4:00 pm at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Waxahachie.
